my Focus
As an elected official, I’m focused on growing strong communities and lowering costs.
That requires a different approach to governance. Government should be meeting Georgians where we’re at - daycares, Walmarts, football games, and Auntie’s house.
It means embracing what’s unique about our region - our sacred connection to the land and our history of fighting for what our communities so desperately deserve!
Our strength is in each other, so I’m focused on how to pour into your cup, so you can pour into someone else’s. We got each other through the pandemic. Through hurricanes. Through $1,000 light bills.
Now, it’s time to send a message to the Gold Dome in Atlanta - Southwest, Georgia will not be ignored.
Addressing Poverty Head On
1
Too many families in Southwest Georgia are stuck in a cycle of low wages, rising costs, and limited resources.
Corey’s Plan:
Provide state-wide frameworks to lower everyday costs like utility bills.
Expand affordable childcare options so parents can access more opportunities for income.
Support reforming Georgia’s education funding formula to include a Poverty Weight for students living in persistent states of poverty.
Support small businesses and local entrepreneurs with access to funding, training, and resources to grow.
Invest in workforce training, apprenticeships, and community college programs.
Expanding Healthcare
2
In rural Georgia, healthcare isn’t just expensive.
It’s often out of reach.
Corey’s Plan:
Protect and expand rural hospitals, telehealth options and rural clinics
Support immediate Medicaid expansion efforts. Removing work requirement barriers from the Pathways to Coverage Program.
Address long travel times by supporting investments in Rural Transportation Systems
Support Reproductive Freedom legislation and increase investments in maternal healthcare
Support a Universal Single Payer System: Aims to close the coverage gap for working adults who make too much for Medicaid but can’t afford private insurance
Invest in a State-Wide Office for Community Violence Prevention: No parent should fear losing their child to gun violence. Protecting our children must be a shared priority.

Growing opportunity
Everyone deserves a fair shot at success.
No matter where they live.
Corey’s Plan:
Provide State Investments for Local School Districts and State Universities to offer family education resources, including: literacy support programs, tutoring access, parent engagement, afterschool programming and summer enrichment opportunities.
Support Paid Family Leave opportunities for all Georgia Workers
Support increasing Georgia’s minimum wage from $5.15 for ALL Georgia Workers
Increase State Investments in Workforce Housing developments.
Strengthen literacy programs in schools and communities so both youth and adults can access the skills they need to succeed
Raise Georgia’s minimum teacher salary to ensure educators are paid competitively
