corey b. morgan

Corey B. Morgan is the community’s choice for Georgia Senate District 12. He’s a proven leader, dedicated public servant, and proud son of Southwest Georgia who is ready to deliver real results for our communities.

Raised by generations of strong Black families, Corey learned early the values of faith, family, and resilience—the belief that no matter the obstacles, you can make a way out of no way. Those lessons shaped his life and continue to guide his commitment to fighting for working families, seniors, and the next generation of Southwest Georgia.

Corey B. Morgan is running for Georgia State Senate District 12 to be a voice for the community. With a foundation built at LaGrange College and Albany State University, Corey studied under world-class thought leaders to master the complexities of public policy and social equity. He credits his approach to leadership to the guidance of dedicated scholars like Dr. Veronica Adams-Cooper, Dr. John Tures, Dr. Peter Ngwafu, Dr. Marc Shook, and Clennon King, as well as the real-world governance insights of local leaders like Mayors Mary Jo Haywood, Rufus Davis, Kelvin Owens, and Jeff Lukken.

During his time at Albany State, he served as Associate Director of Recruitment, traveling across Georgia to bring new students to Southwest Georgia and champion the power of higher education for the next generation.

He left Albany State with a mission, to ensure everyone’s ‘Potential is Realized’ in all communities across Southwest, Georgia.

He ran for office in his hometown and has since been elected twice to the Camilla City Council.

First, in 2019, winning by just 8 votes.

Again, in 2023, with 79% of the vote.

His leadership has always started with one simple question.

How do we build this together?
